We offer a number of programs and services to help support and empower the women and children of our area.

Will my abuser be able to find me?

Flin Flon’s Interim Housing have a lot of security measures and practices in place to ensure your safety. For example, staff will not talk to anyone without your permission. We also have trained staff and a secure place designed to keep you and the other residents safe.

Flin Flon Safe Haven

The Flin Flon Women’s Safe Haven is a comfortable, clean living space. Different shelters vary in size and structure. They have a lot of security measures and practices in place to ensure your safety.

Kitchen & Dining

The Safe Haven has a small kitchen with standard appliances. Efforts will be made to accommodate special dietary needs if necessary. You will need to let staff members know about any dietary requirements you or your children have. Extra food supplies are locked in storage, please let staff know if you require any food items.

Kids Area

Shelters have been set up to be safe places for you and your children.

Bedrooms

Family-size rooms are available so your children can stay with you. Cribs can be provided to accommodate for babies. Single women may have to share a room with other single women at times of high capacity.

Living Room

The Safe Haven has a shared, standard size living room with couch and television.

Common Room

The Flin Flon Women's Safe Haven offers a common room where our staff can offer support, information and referral services. Right next to the common room is a play room for the kids with large windows so that mom can keep an eye on the children while receiving support.
