We again joined forces with the Body, Mind & Soul Committee and the Friendship Centre to host the eighth annual local International Women’s Day and Women of Honour Award Luncheon. The gathering celebrates the achievements of women in our community that strive to improve our quality of life, and making our community a better place to live. Often these women do not get the recognition they deserve, we need to value the women in our community and recognize the contributions they make.
Awards were presented in five categories: Dona O’Brien received the Lifetime Achievement Award; Joan Thorley received the Community Legacy Award; Iris Bailey received the Neighbourhood Legend Award; Crystal Kolt received the Professional Innovation Award; and Melanie Rodabaugh received the Young Women of Distinction Award. We hope these women realize the impressions they have made on our community.
